Open source components

The platform incorporates third-party open source software. The application-level components are distributed under permissive licenses (MIT, ISC, BSD and Apache-2.0), together with a small number of MPL-2.0 components used without modification. The platform's container images are built on standard upstream Linux base images (such as Debian, Alpine, Ubuntu and Red Hat UBI), which include system packages under a range of licenses including the GNU GPL and LGPL, used without modification.

The platform also uses two source-available server components, MongoDB and Redis, strictly as internal components: neither is exposed to end users, and neither is offered to any third party as a standalone or managed service. Both are used without modification. MongoDB is used under the Server Side Public License (SSPL). Redis is offered by its publisher under multiple licenses (RSALv2, SSPLv2 and AGPLv3) and is used here under the RSALv2 (Redis Source Available License), which permits this internal, non-service use. Their source is available from their respective upstream projects.

When the customer provides and installs the host operating system, that operating system is outside the scope of this notice. When the platform is delivered as a pre-installed appliance (for example, on an industrial PC) with a Linux operating system included by Sensative, that operating system's open source components are covered by the source offer below, on the same terms.

Source code availability (GPL / LGPL / SSPL)

Where the platform is delivered as an on-premises or edge installation - including a pre-installed appliance, where the included host Linux operating system is covered as well - it distributes components under the GNU GPL and LGPL, together with the source-available server components MongoDB (SSPL) and Redis (RSALv2). All such components are used unmodified.

In accordance with those licenses, Sensative provides the corresponding source code, matching the exact versions delivered, on request - file a support request at shop.sensative.com/support. Sensative supplies this source itself rather than by referring to third-party mirrors (whose contents change over time); for appliance deliveries the corresponding source is archived at build time and retained. This written offer is valid for the supported lifetime of each delivered release and for at least three years after delivery.

Third-party notices

A complete, per-release list of the third-party components in a given release and their licenses (the third-party notice / attribution file) is provided with the release and available on request via shop.sensative.com/support.
